Teatro e storia. Il teatro come strumento di trasmissione della memoria e conoscenza storica

Come trasmettere la memoria e conoscenza storica oggi? La scuola deve avvalersi di nuovi strumenti per la didattica della Storia e la trasmissione della memoria. Tra questi si candida il Teatro, o meglio alcune forme come il Teatro di Narrazione e il Teatro Comunitario di Pontelagoscuro di Ferrara. Elaborare e drammatizzare in scena le testimonianze storiche è uno strumento innovativo quanto tradizionale per trasmettere conoscenza. Il racconto orale ristabilisce un rapporto emotivo tra l’attore/narratore e chi ascolta e fa si che la memoria si riempia di suoni, parole, gesti e sguardi, e che la Storia si manifesti di fronte ai nostri occhi.

Theatre and History. Theatre as an Historical Memory Transmission Tool

How can we hand on historical memory and knowledge nowadays? Education has to provide itself with new instruments to teach History and to pass on the memory of the past. Among those instruments, we should consider theatrical means, in particular some forms of Narrative’s Theatre and Community Theatre, like the Community Theatre of Pontelagoscuro, near Ferrara. The dramatizing of historical testimonies can be considered as innovative an instrument to pass on knowledge, as much as it is traditional. This kind of oral communication restores an emotive relationship between the actor/storyteller and who is listening, and allow historical memory to fill itself up with sounds, words, signs and looks, letting History show itself before our very eyes.
